When I started working with Katherine a year ago, I had no idea I was embarking on a journey to re-indigenize myself. I didn’t even know that was a thing. I’ve heard of decolonizing, but re-indigenizing? And that’s not even how Katherine sold herself. In fact, she didn’t sell herself at all. I had been given a copy of her book and after reading the first few chapters I felt called to work with her. I have good intuition about the therapists and teachers I’ve let into my life, but I’ve never felt a calling like that before, sight unseen. I was at a place in my life where I knew I needed tools beyond what were available from my psychoanalytic and religious communities, communities that, while full of amazing people, were nonetheless still wrapped up in cycles of abuse and domination. Now, a year later, I’ve learned practices that have opened and revitalized my body, my heart, my spirit, my work and my relationships (ancestral and present) in ways I never knew possible, and I know I’m still only just getting started. It has been challenging, and humbling, deeply humbling, but empowering, and God, I have to say it, it has been magical. Katherine knows her calling—to teach and empower healers—she has worked hard at it, and it shows in everything she does. Can you imagine if we were all, even just a little bit, better at that? Bringing out the magic in each other? I have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, another doctorate in psychoanalysis, and a master’s in theology, and no one has ever told me that any of this was available. How could this be? I think maybe I’ve found my own calling now too. "

I had been struggling for some time with energetic boundary issues that were holding me back in business, in my relationship, and in life.
